    Literally a cellar used to store wine. Cantinas (Italian pl.: Cantine) were a very common thing in country houses, and now can be normally converted into habitable rooms with minor efforts.
     
    Cinque Terre

    World Heritage Site, one of the most famous and visited Italian coastal places for it's unique beauty. Includes the five towns of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
     
    Compromesso

    The italian name for the Preliminary Contract of Purchase, signed before buying a house. It can legally used to apply for a Permit to stay or Residency.
     
    Detached House

    An independent house, not attached to any other building on every side.
     
    Liguria

    Italian coastal region located in the North West including the provinces of Genoa, La Spezia, Savona and Imperia. Among its most well known areas and touristic places there are the Cinque Terre and the Riviera.
     
    Lunigiana

    Area roughly corresponding to the Province of Massa-Carrara, in Northern Tuscany. The most notable towns of the area are Aulla, Pontremoli, Villafranca and Licciana Nardi.
     
    Manor

    A mansion of a lord or noble, usually quite large and with land around. This term can be used to describe a large and historical villa.
